01

Official sample questions are the floor

The IRS publishes sample questions for each part, written for the current exam law period. They show the real format and sourcing standard, but there are only a handful per part, so they cannot measure readiness by themselves.

02

A practice exam is a rehearsal, not a quiz

A quiz checks one topic. A practice exam rehearses the event: mixed domains, exam-like weighting, and a running clock. Take at least a few full timed sets before your PSI appointment so pacing decisions are automatic on test day.

03

Check the law period before you practice

The current exam cycle tests tax law as amended through December 31, 2025. Questions from older courses or free question dumps may rehearse thresholds and rules that are no longer tested, which is worse than not practicing.

04

Score rehearsals by objective, not by total

The real exam converts correct answers to a 200-800 scale with 500 passing, and your report groups performance by domain. Mirror that in practice: a stable score built on one strong domain and one weak one is a fail risk that a total percentage hides.

Where to start free

This site offers a five-question sample for each part with immediate explanations and official references, plus a 15-question diagnostic across all three parts that returns a part-by-part study priority. No account or email is required for either.

Frequently asked questions

What candidates ask next

Is there an official full-length EA practice exam?

No. The IRS publishes sample questions for each part and PSI documents the exam format, but neither offers a full-length practice exam. Full timed practice comes from exam-prep providers.

How many practice questions do you need before scheduling?

There is no magic number. Schedule when your performance on unseen, timed, mixed sets is consistently strong across every domain of the part, not after a single good score.

Are practice exams from previous years still accurate?

Be careful. Each testing cycle uses a specific tax-law period, and the current cycle tests law through December 31, 2025. Verify any practice source states its law period.

Are EA practice exams harder than the real exam?

Providers calibrate differently. What matters is that questions map to the current PSI outline and that explanations teach the rule, so accuracy on unseen sets transfers to the real event.
